As I have my finger on the filmic pulse I have just finished watching V for Vendetta. I liked it… that is all.
Finally got round to listening to the new Radiohead that has sat on my ipod for a while. It’s fantastic. Regardless of how they distributed it, it’s a work of beauty. I saw them a few years back at the Metro Radio Arena. I loathe ‘arena’ shows and the venue really didn’t do them justice. They are playing a few places in the UK next year and I might see if I can persuade the other half to let me go.
Do yourself a favour, check out Reckoner, it’s possibly the best song on the album.
What a truly terrible movie. Sweet baby Jesus I still love Die Hard though.
A great article highlighting how even musicians such as Radiohead are tight fisted, money hungry arseholes. Oh how my heart bleeds for you. Every musician I’ve met has been the slackest of all slackers. Fuck you.
So, you are unable to update the firmware of the Nokia N95 without a PC. Hmm… Way to rain on my parade Nokia, I see the changelog looks amazing. Assisted GPS and browser tweaks but I can’t have them. Annoying, will have to try and sort it out at work tomorrow.
I do have to say though, Nokia released an Internet Radio Client for the N95 today and it works a charm. I reckon there is about 600 available stations at the moment with more to come. A very welcome addition and another to drain my battery even quicker. The 3g version of the iPhone is going to have to be amazing for me to switch teams.
Right I’ve got the season finale of Heroes to watch and a bottle of Malbec to drink. What am I doing typing this?
A few weeks ago one of my favourite music blogs ceased to be. Needless to say I was gutted but today I was trawling through the comments left on the final entry and followed a link to a new site, and a very good one it is too.
Fuelfriends is the brainchild of Heather Browne who seems to share my love of 90s American music, most importantly Jeff Buckley.
A quick scan of the archives and I stumbled on this fucking gem.
Jeff Buckley singing When The Levee Breaks
It’s very special and I urge you to check it out. Hearing something ‘new’ from this masterful singer/songwriter brought a lump to my throat and was made even more poignant knowing how much Jeff loved Zeppelin. There are more tracks to be found here along with the story of how she got hold of them. Thanks for hosting this Heather, you have made my day.
I advise you all to listen to Ed Reardon’s Week on Radio 4 - it is very funny indeed.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree, you are in my lounge.
